Preparing preschool students for kindergarten is critical, and Reeds Spring Primary School is getting a significant boost thanks to a $10,000 Hope Grant from the Silver Dollar City Foundation.
These funds will be used to improve preschool classroom learning centers, introducing new hands-on, play-based instructional materials.
“This will transform our preschool classrooms into engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environments that foster exploration, creativity, and school readiness,” said Primary School Principal Adria Simkins. “Teachers will be better equipped to deliver high-quality instruction while meeting the diverse developmental needs of every child.”
By equipping classrooms with modern, interactive resources, these new materials will build skills in key areas, like:
Language & Early Literacy: Building vocabulary, communication, and foundational reading skills.
Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Encouraging teamwork, curiosity, and critical thinking through guided exploration.
Self-Regulation & Social-Emotional Development: Helping young students develop emotional awareness, resilience, and positive peer relationships.
These fundamental skills establish the framework for a smooth transition into kindergarten and support academic and personal growth for years to come.
