Anyone 55 or older is invited to Reeds Spring Schools for the district’s annual Golden Friends Luncheon on Wednesday, March 11.
This is a way for Reeds Spring Schools to thank the community for its support and to show the exciting things happening around the district.
"Our Golden Friends event is one of the most meaningful traditions we have as a district," said Superintendent Dr. Cody Hirschi. "The men and women we welcome each year helped build this community and continue to support our schools through their trust and their tax investment. We believe we have a responsibility to hold ourselves accountable to them. "
The event begins at 12:00 p.m. inside the high school’s auxiliary gym. Guests will receive a free meal and will be entertained by student bands and choirs.
"This event gives us the opportunity to open our doors, showcase the incredible talents of our students, and share the progress we're making through Vision 2030 and our Portrait of a Graduate work," Hirschi said. "We want our senior citizens to see firsthand that we are preparing students at a high level academically, socially, and with the durable skills they need for life, while also being wise and transparent stewards of every dollar entrusted to us. It's a celebration of our students, but it's also a public commitment to excellence, responsibility, and community partnership."
You can register for the event online or by calling 417-272-8173 extension 4023.
