Auto Technology II students pulled the engine out of a Chevy 3500 for their last GTC project of the year!

Marine Technology students have been hard at work with service calls on area boat docks.
They recently dewinterized and changed the oil on two Sea Ray boats and now the owners are ready for lake season!
Seniors in the Welding program have been hard at work building booth walls and tables for the welding shop in the new Table Rock Career Center which is set to open its doors in the fall of 2024.

You've got to love a little competition as all of our programs competed in our CTE Olympics today. Auto 1 brought their #AGame today as they win both AM and PM trophies! Thanks to #SkillsUSA for feeding everyone as well. #CTE
James Lopacinski from Hollister High School and other students from the Graphic Design program have been hard at work producing notepads for customers from the local community.
The Healthcare Careers program has been hard at work preparing for their CNA certification exam next week. There is nothing like a little CNA trivia to get everyone ready for the big day!
It's been an interesting day here at GTC, but we'll still be happy to honor our students next week.
Update #3: Good news: Power has been restored. The bad news: Galena was still having power issues and is canceling for the rest of the day. We did not want to move forward with having the Award Ceremony w/o them present. Rescheduled for 12:45 Tues
Early Childhood Careers seniors had the opportunity to take a field trip to Scott Family Amazeum in Bentonville for a day of professional development. They focused on the benefits of play in early educational development.
Nine students from the EMT program passed their psychomotor skills exam on the first attempt in Blue Springs, Missouri. These students will continue the licensing process when they take the written NREMT examination to earn their Missouri EMT license.

Update #2. Power is still out, so we're having to push our morning Awards Ceremony to Tuesday. Hoping to have the afternoon ceremony as planned.
Update: We are holding out hope that power will be restored, with using 10:00 as a deadline for the morning Awards Ceremony. If power is not on by then, we will be forced to move the ceremony to Tuesday at 9:00.
Due to weather and power outages we may have to delay our Awards Ceremony. We will keep you posted.

Congratulations to Reeds Spring Senior Talan Gold and Galena Senior Tray Murphy who recently committed to continuing their education/training at Apex Welding Academy.
The construction program began construction on a new home at the beginning of the school year. The goal by the end of the year was to get the house "in the dry" (the point in the construction process where the rough exterior work has been completed: windows, doors, roofing shingles and a weather-resistant barrier have all been installed).
Mission accomplished; four weeks ahead of schedule! Great Job!
Culinary Arts students just completed their food truck wars competition. Students from other programs judged each truck on flavor, presentation, if the food matched the theme of the truck, and if they would be a returning customer.
