Health Technology students just completed their first week of the practicum portion of their program at Shepherd of the Hills Living Center. We are very thankful for this industry partnership. Upon completion of the practicum, students will begin preparing for the CNA exam.
Students in the graphic design program have been hard at work designing and producing signage for the Reeds Spring Invitational Golf Tournament.
It was great seeing all of the sophomores from Reeds Spring High School touring our 12 programs of study. It was even more amazing seeing so many students display pride and gratitude for having so many options available to them at Table Rock Career Center right next door to the high school.
78 Tigers from Hollister High School explored all of the great things Table Rock Career Center has to offer for students interested in any one of our 12 programs of study designed to prepare students for college, career and life.
Students in the Early Childhood Careers program have been hard at work earning their Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certifications. This is another example of how students at GTC are learning skills they can use for a lifetime.
This morning over 100 Branson High School sophomores had an opportunity to explore all 12 programs of study designed to prepare today's students for the jobs of tomorrow. We cannot wait to see many of these students at Table Rock Career Center next school year.
Despite the cold temperatures, students in Mr. Young's Construction Program have been hard at work on the jobsite. Construction on this new home is set to be completed in May 2025.
Congratulations goes to our Instructional Specialist Mr. John Giebler on being selected our Teacher of the Month. You may ask, "What does an Instructional Specialist do?", but the better question is probably "what does he NOT do". Mr. Giebler wears so many different hats in our building, it's hard to keep track of. In essence though, Mr. Giebler does many different tasks all with the heart of serving our teachers and students every day. Everyone here is very grateful for his positive impact.
Our Employee of the Month is Mr. Dusty Borgman, who serves as a Teacher Assistant for Mr. Stober in the Auto Collision program. Mr. Borgman, who also serves as a bus driver for the district, jumped at the opportunity to join our staff. He brings almost 40 years of experience in auto collision. He has a passion for helping students prepare for the demands of the collision repair industry. He is an invaluable asset to our Auto Collision program.
Students in Mrs. Noriega's Culinary Arts program have been learning the science of baking. The students conducted experiments with different leavening agents and analyzed how different types add different amounts of trapped air in baked goods.
Mr. Thompson's Computer Technology morning section collected over 160 items during the GTC December Food Drive. As a reward, they were treated to a PIZZA PARTY! All donated items were delivered to Carl's Closet which is a food pantry at Reeds Spring High School that serves people of the community during times of need.
Our staff had an opportunity to tour the Table Rock Career Center construction site. Everyone is so excited to transition into this new state-of-the-art facility in the 2024-2025 school year.
