

Recently, representatives from MU Extension facilitated the processing of a lamb into retail cuts for students in the Culinary Arts program. After processing, they and the students prepared and sampled the various cuts of lamp. Thank you to Kyle Whittaker, Jacob Hefly, and MU Extension for investing in our students.





Hayden McGrath, a Collision Repair student from Reeds Spring High School has been hard at work prepping and painting wheels for a 1955 Chevrolet pickup.
It was great having 8th grade students from Blue Eye and Shell Knob middle schools exploring all of the great things TRCC has to offer for career-minded students preparing to transition to high school.





Auto Technology II students have been gaining valuable experience using an on-car brake lathe. This precision tool resurfaces brake rotors without removing them from the vehicle.




Recently, Sergeant Stan Kauffman from the Branson Police Department facilitated a Defensive Tactics Maneuvers workshop with students from our Criminal Justice Program. We are very thankful for so many law enforcement agencies who are investing so much into this program of study in its inaugural year.


Students from the Welding program represented TRCC well when they competed in the SkillsUSA District Competition in Joplin.






Recently, representatives from Mercy Springfield and Mercy EMS shared an inside look at the wide variety of career and continuing education opportunities the organizations offer. Beyond learning about potential career paths, our EMT students also received a comprehensive walkthrough of the essential procedures and protocols required for their upcoming clinical rotations with Mercy EMS and the Stone County Ambulance District. Thanks to both of these organizations for investing so much into the next generation of healthcare heroes.





Congratulations to the following Culinary Arts students who advanced to the State SkillsUSA Competition in April:
Lucia Esqueda (Spokane High School) finished in 2nd place in the Culinary Arts District Competition.
Aubrey Melton (Branson High School) finished in 2nd place in the Baking District Competition.
Both events were held at Franklin Technical Center in Joplin.

Our Auto and Computer Technology programs represented TRCC well at their SkillsUSA District competitions held at Ozarks Tech.
Aidan Broomfield finished 2nd and advanced to the State SkillsUSA Auto Service Competition to be held in April!
Michael Baldwin (Information Technology Services) and David Head (Auto Service) finished in 3rd place.
We are so proud of these seven students and instructors who spent many hours outside normal classroom hours to prepare to compete in Springfield today.

Students in the Construction program recently installed a privacy fence around the back of the house they have been working on for the last two years. Completion of this portion of the project marks the end of this construction cycle. All that is left is the final inspection and soon this house will become a family's home.




What do Culinary Arts students do on AMI days? Mrs. Noriega's students had a Pantry Challenge where they had to prepare a recipe with whatever they had at the house. In addition to preparing the food, the students had to complete a cost analysis of the ingredients used in the recipe. Lastly, the students had to get feedback from those who sampled their creations.


Students in the Collision Repair program have been hard at work restoring a very rare 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT. They have perfected the finish so perfectly the reflection is hard to differentiate from reality.





Mr. Sears' Auto Technology II students have been hard at work in the clean lab learning how to use multimeters in troubleshooting common electrical issues on cars and trucks.
