Students in the Marine Technology program are learning about different hull designs. The students crafted a hull from 1 inch foam board, wired a series circuit using a 9 volt motor, installed a switch and battery connector, used parts of a Bic pen and made a prop shaft and driveline.
After all students manufactured his/her boats they raced them down a 30 foot rain gutter. Clayton Jones from Blue Eye High School was the champion from the morning block. Lawrence Hopkins from Spokane High School was the champion from the afternoon block.
It was great visiting with a great group of students from Spokane High School this afternoon. There is no way to measure their excitement as they explored all of the great things Table Rock Career Center has to offer in preparing them for so many different career and college paths.

This great organization is dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch beds to children and families in need.

Last week 28 members of our SkillsUSA chapter visited Convoy of Hope and helped package over 71,000 bars of soap to be used in future disaster relief operations. SkillsUSA is committed to making sure the United States has a viable workforce for the jobs of tomorrow. An additional goal of our SkillsUSA chapter is to help students see the importance of being civic-minded adults.
The students in the collision program have been hard at work with various customer projects. From dent repair, sanding, to the paint shop, and the final detailing of the vehicle, these students are learning skills they will have for the rest of their lives.
