Students in the Marine Technology program are learning about different hull designs. The students crafted a hull from 1 inch foam board, wired a series circuit using a 9 volt motor, installed a switch and battery connector, used parts of a Bic pen and made a prop shaft and driveline. After all students manufactured his/her boats they raced them down a 30 foot rain gutter. Clayton Jones from Blue Eye High School was the champion from the morning block. Lawrence Hopkins from Spokane High School was the champion from the afternoon block.
