We would like to take this opportunity to spotlight our Graphic Design instructor, Josie O’Hara, who was selected as the October Teacher of the Month!
TRCC Director Brian Moler had this to say about the immediate impact Mrs. O’Hara has made in her first year leading the Graphic Design program, “She jumped into her new role with amazing enthusiasm and purpose. She has done a great job making connections with her new students and learning a whole new way of operating in the CTE setting. She has also developed a system that has empowered her students to take on job requests and have ownership in the products they are producing for customers.”
Mrs. O’Hara loves how the state-of-the-art lab allows students to be as creative as possible while producing a wide variety of products.
A shoutout is also in order for Matt Locke, who was named October Employee of the Month! Mr. Locke is an assistant teacher in the Marine Technology program and a highly valued member of the TRCC staff. He brings 33 years of experience as an art and video production teacher at Reeds Spring High School.
Mr. Locke has truly been a hero to our program. When one of our instructors fell ill, he did not hesitate to step in and take over the class. He has gone above and beyond expectations by taking ownership of the class while honoring the direction and purpose of the instructor’s program. Thanks to his dedication and the additional time he has spent preparing for class, our students continue to receive quality instruction, and the class continues to progress while meeting students’ academic needs.
