Attendance Incentive
We will once again provide an attendance incentive for summer school. Any full-time summer school student will be eligible to receive up to $100 for his/her attendance.
Grades K-8
Middle School students must be enrolled in both the AM & PM sessions to be considered full-time enrollment. (Summer Weights will not count towards the Attendance Incentive.)
The following table details amounts for students based on minutes missed:
● 0 minutes missed = $100 Walmart gift card
● 1 minute - 7 hours 15 minutes (1 Day) = $75 Walmart gift card
● 7 hours 16 minutes - 14 hours 30 minutes (2 Days) = $50 Walmart gift card
High School Students
Since High School classes are designed in semester blocks, the attendance incentive will be awarded based on courses completed. A maximum of two courses will be allowed per high school session. (Summer Weights and online courses will not count towards the Attendance Incentive.)
Gift Cards Per High School Course
(Session 1 / Session 2)
● 0 days missed = $50 Walmart gift card
● 1 day or less = $25 Walmart gift card
**Please note that minutes signed in late or checked out early will be included in the attendance data and will be taken into account when calculating the scales above.
Students attending school events will be counted present and still eligible for the incentive. As a district, we believe high expectations and hard work will result in higher performance. Summer school is an important opportunity for students to continue their learning, and staying engaged academically will help prevent learning regression over the summer.
We hope this incentive encourages students to remain focused on academic goals throughout summer school. Please feel free to contact the summer school directors if you have any questions.
Summer School Directors:
Mrs. Adria Simkins -- K-1 & 6th Grade
Dr. Laura Weber -- 2nd-5th Grade
Mr. Casey Carpenter -- Middle School
Mr. Brandon Weldy -- High School
