Our Past, Your Future

Gibson Technical Center opened its doors to students from Stone, Christian, and Taney Counties in the fall of 1974.  Reeds Spring Superintendent of Schools Omar Gibson’s vision for career and technical education in the Reeds Spring community paved the way to where we are today in terms of preparing today's students for tomorrow through quality career and technical education.  The original consortium of schools included: Blue Eye, Branson, Crane, Forsyth, Galena, Hollister, Hurley, Reeds Spring, and Spokane.  After a few years Bradleyville and Chadwick were added to the consortium.  From 1974 to 2024 over 6,000 students completed programs of study at GTC designed to prepare all students for college, career and life.  Our first 50 years have been amazing and we are looking forward to an even brighter future as we transition to the new state-of-the-art Table Rock Career Center.
