Freshman Mentors (H.Y.P.E.)
The Freshman Mentoring Program, Helping Young Peers Excel (H.Y.P.E.), was adopted at Reeds Spring High School in 2003. Freshmen receive academic support and an opportunity to develop a relationship with an upperclassman that helps them with a smooth transition into high school. If you have general questions about your freshman son or daughter's experience within Reeds Spring High School, the HYPE Leader would be a great place to look for answers!
HYPE leaders are junior and senior students who choose to spend their Guided Study Hall time checking in with freshmen students. They help them build study skills, get organized, complete homework, and develop relationships and opportunities at RSHS. Throughout the year, HYPE leaders organize events for freshmen.
HYPE mentors are responsible for leading group lessons during the first few weeks of school. The lessons are intended to help the freshmen transition to high school and adjust to the expectations placed on them.
