Congratulations to our Welding Instructor Jordan Lewallen for being named the November GTC Teacher of the Month. A parent had this to say about Mr. Lewallen’s positive influence, “Before my son started the Welding Program at Gibson Tech, he hated school. Mr. Lewallen has taught him a trade and life skills that he can use the rest of his life. Mr. Lewallen also teaches the students how the real world will treat them and he doesn’t set them up for failure by sugar coating everything. I give all the credit to Mr. Lewallen for being a great teacher and role model for my son."
Our Employee of the Month is one of teacher assistants, Keith McDannold. A member of the GTC staff had this to say about how much he is appreciated, “Mr. McDannold goes above and beyond in his role in the classroom and as the SkillsUSA lead advisor. He handles all of the administrative tasks for nearly 140 students and organizes impactful service projects and contests to help prepare our students for their future careers." Since he has served as the lead advisor of the GTC SkillsUSA chapter membership has grown 20% every year and the chapter has earned a silver level of distinction.
