Three Reeds Spring Students Recognized in Writing Contest

Three Reeds Spring students recently placed in the Ozarks Writers League Youth Writing Contest. Lily Martin, a seventh-grader at Reeds Spring Middle School, won first place in Poetry for her entry, “Curtains on the Sun.”

Reeds Spring High School senior Ciarra Reed earned third-place in the Short Story category for her entry, "The Sun and the Moon.”

Senior Courtney Scobee received Honorable Mention for her Short Story entry, “The Four Seasons Find Destiny.”

All three students received certificates. In addition, Lily received a $25 gift card and Ciarra received a $10 gift card.

The Ozarks Writers League is dedicated to promoting writing, literacy, photography, and art.

Ciarra and Courtney’s stories were part of Mrs. Kondro’s mythology class. Students created a book of myths and were encouraged to submit them to the OWL Youth Writing Competition. This is the collection of all of the stories they created. We are very proud of our students and their writing!
