Strong Start to Winter Sports Season

During the winter sports season, Reeds Spring High School competes in boys basketball, girls basketball, and wrestling.

Boys Basketball

The Wolves finished third at the Forsyth Tournament. In the first game, RSHS defeated Hollister 58-46. Lance Hafar scored 24 points and Ty Cooper added 17. The Wolves then lost to Strafford 73-37. In the third place game, RSHS beat Berryville 70-66. Cooper led the Wolves with 25 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

The freshmen competed in the Rogersville Tournament. They beat Kickapoo’s B-Team 44-37, then lost to Forsyth 49-32, and lost to Rogersville 55-25.

Girls Basketball

The Lady Wolves opened the season with a victory over Seymour 75-44. Kalena Asbill scored 33 points and Shelby Strailey added 16.

In the Blue Eye Tournament, RSHS beat Cassville 61-31. Asbill again led the team with 23 points. In the semifinals, Blue Eye defeated RSHS 64-30. Asbill scored 13 points and Jade Watson added 10. In the third place game, Forsyth beat the Lady Wolves 70-53. Asbill scored 23 points, Strailey added 13, and Brooke Davis had nine.

Wrestling

The Wolves opened the season with losses to Marshfield and Rogersville. Two nights later, RSHS lost to Carl Junction, but beat Joplin and Webb City.

At the Bolivar Tournament, the team finished seventh overall. Tyler Nance finished third at 113 pounds, Eric Holt was third at 138 pounds, and Clayton Johnson was third at 170 pounds.
