Lady Wolves Earn #2 Seed for District Softball Tournament

The Reeds Spring High School softball team has earned the number-two seed for the district tournament, which begins October 11. The Lady Wolves beat Seneca 10-0 last week to finish the conference schedule with an 8-2 record, good for second place. RSHS also played Hillcrest last week, falling 4-2. The team’s overall record is 17-5. The JV team is 11-3. The district tournament will be played in Rogersville. The Lady Wolves will play the winner of Bolivar and Buffalo.

Football
The Wolves fell to Marshfield last Friday, 31-21. Blake Gronvold was 11-17 passing for 147 yards and one touchdown. Gronvold also rushed for 157 yards on 26 carries. The defense was led by Ben Moler with 11 total tackles. The Wolves host Cassville on Friday, October 12. It will be Senior Night.

Cross Country
The Wolves ran hard last week with two meets on back-to-back days. At the Conway Invitational, RSHS finished second. At the Branson Invitational, the team finished fifth out of eight teams, although the top four teams were all much larger schools.

Volleyball
The Lady Wolves defeated Hollister last week and lost to Parkview. At the Mt. Vernon Tournament, RSHS beat Hollister again but lost to Clever and Branson.
 
Tennis
The RSHS tennis team wrapped up the 2018 season last week. The team district competition was played at Aurora, and the Lady Wolves went 0-5 in match play. For the individual district tournament, the doubles team Kennzie Cockrell and Kayla Coffelt made it to the second round but lost to Logan-Rogersville. The team finished with an overall record of 3-11.
