Gibson Tech Student Earns Gold Medal at Competition

For the fifth consecutive year, a Gibson Technical Center student has earned a gold medal at the Missouri HOSA State Leadership Conference. HOSA is a national organization that prepares students to enter the healthcare field.
Makenzie Yartz won the Life Support Skills competition, which was held in late March at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla. Yartz is a junior at Reeds Spring High School and is enrolled in the EMT class at Gibson Technical Center.
The team of Micalah Robins and Alexis Mundell earned the bronze medal in the EMT category. Robins is from Hurley and Mundell is from Hollister.
Gibson Technical Center is part of the Reeds Spring School District but also takes in students from 10 surrounding districts.
All three students will attend and compete at HOSA's 41st Annual International Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas June 26-30.
