Carroll Tops 1,000 Points; Wrestlers Strong at State

Reeds Spring High School's Lane Carroll scored his 1,000th career point last week in the Wolves' 68-46 victory over Hollister. The senior becomes just the sixth player in school history to reach this milestone. Carroll led the team with 23 points in the win over the Tigers. The Wolves also defeated Marshfield last week 61-52. Carroll was again the leading scorer with 15 points. Freshman Lance Hafar recorded his first career double-double by scoring ten points and grabbing 11 rebounds. The JV team also beat Hollister but fell to Marshfield.
Clayton Johnson finished third in the 170-pound weight class at the Class 2 State Wrestling Championship held last week in Columbia. Johnson won his first two matches before losing in the semifinal. Johnson then had to win two more matches to earn third place.
Freshman Eric Holt placed fifth at 120 pounds. Holt also won his first two matches before losing in the semifinal. Holt then lost again to put him in the fifth-place match, which he won by pinfall.
Sophomore Chase Johnson also qualified for state at 106 pounds. He lost his first match, won his second, and lost his third.
Girls Basketball
The Lady Wolves played two games last week, falling to Bolivar 67-39 and losing to Logan-Rogersville 65-35.
