The Reeds Spring High School football team won the COC-Small Championship on Friday, October 13 by defeating Springfield Catholic 35-7. This is the football team's first outright conference championship since 1981.
Kelly Newton had 246 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Seth Stamps also had two rushing touchdowns, and Cole Watson added another. Ben Moler led the defense with 12 solo tackles.
The Wolves are 7-2 on the year and host Monett in the first round of the district tournament on Friday, October 20.
The Lady Wolves dropped a pair of matches last week, falling to Branson and Logan-Rogersville. The JV team also lost both matches, but the freshmen team defeated Branson.
The cross country team competed in the COC-Small meet last week. Rachel Bagg finished in third place for the girls and Declan Brown finished ninth for the boys.
