Boys & Girls Basketball Teams Bring Home Trophies

The Reeds Spring High School boys and girls basketball teams each won the consolation bracket of a tournament last week

The boys competed in the Forsyth Tournament. The Wolves lost the first game to Hollister, 55-51. Joel Gertson led the team with 13 points. The Wolves then defeated School of the Ozarks, 66-45, behind 26 points from Logen Plumb. In the consolation bracket final, Reeds Spring beat Mountain Home, Arkansas, 57-43. Lane Carroll scored 19 points and Austin Bradfield added 14.

The Lady Wolves played in the Blue Eye Tournament. They dropped the first game to Cassville, 51-35. Carley Reeves-Eakins led the team with nine points and seven rebounds. Next, Reeds Spring defeated Exeter, 60-48. Kalena Asbill scored 17 points, had 10 rebounds, eight steals, and seven assists. Reeves-Eakins added 16 points, 13 rebounds, and five steals. In the consolation final, the Lady Wolves beat Marionville, 67-40. Asbill had 20 points, eight steals, and six rebounds. Abby Rudd added 12 points and six rebounds, while Reeves-Eakins scored ten points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

The wrestling team lost its first two matches at home against Marshfield and Logan-Rogersville. The team then competed against Webb City, Joplin, and Carl Junction, dropping all three matches. The Wolves wrestled at the Bolivar Tournament over the weekend, with Conner Shafer finishing third in the 182-pound class.
