Wolves Make Strong Showing at Fishing Tournament

The Reeds Spring High School Bass Club began its season by competing at Cape Fair Marina on Sunday, September 18. The pairing of Colton Essick and Brittin Dover finished second overall, Bradley Williams finished third, and the team of Kolby Stewart and Dalen Coonrod earned big bass honors with a fish weighing a little over four pounds.


The Lady Wolves defeated Cassville in two sets last week. Ashley Hill had 20 assists. Over the weekend, the team competed in a tournament at Camdenton, winning two matches and losing four, good for second place in the consolation bracket.


The Lady Wolves defeated Monett last week 9-0. Lauren Hustead, Makenna Curtis, Kennzie Cockrell, Taylor Bullis, Hanna Redmon, and Tyan Burnett all won singles matches. The doubles teams of Hustead and Bullis, Cockrell and Curtis, and Redmon and Burnett also won.

The Lady Wolves lost all three matches in the COC tournament.


The Wolves defeated Springfield Central on the road last week, 48-18. Sophomore Seth Stamps led the team with a touchdown and 100 yards rushing on just five carries. Korey Robinette, Austin Staugaard, Kelly Newton, Ben Helms, and Colter Whitten also scored.

Homecoming is Friday, September 23. The Wolves host Hollister. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. and kickoff is scheduled for 7:00.


The RSHS softball team lost to Norwood 5-4 last week, but defeated Aurora 8-0. Hannah Erickson pitched a three-hitter and Karri Dale Johnson hit two home runs.

The Lady Wolves also beat Hollister 4-1 behind Izzy Erickson's school record 15 strikeouts.

Cross Country

The meet at Hollister was postponed. The team competes twice this week, at Nixa and at Hermitage.
