Wolves End Bolivar's 13-Year Conference Winning Streak in Football

The Reeds Spring High School football team defeated Bolivar 38-28 on Friday, September 2. Bolivar had previously never lost a COC-Small football game.

Senior running back Korey Robinette led the Wolves with 152 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Austin Staugaard rushed 11 times for 65 yards and also scored two touchdowns. Kicker Joel Gertson put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter with a 25-yard field goal. The Wolves are now 2-1 on the season and play at Logan-Rogersville on Friday, September 9.

Softball
The Lady Wolves defeated Bolivar 16-6 and lost to East Newton 2-0. The team is now 5-2 on the year. The JV team’s record is 3-1.

Volleyball
The Lady Wolves lost to Clever in two sets but rallied a few nights later to beat Monett in two sets. Mackenzy Lewallen had six kills and four blocks, while Ashley Hill had 22 assists. Senior Madison Bauer had nine digs and senior Lydia Gasper had nine aces.

Tennis
The girls tennis team lost to Springfield Catholic 9-0 but defeated Springfield Hillcrest 9-0.

Cross Country
The cross country team competed at the Fellows Lake 5000 over the weekend. The girls team finished fourth overall, with Rachel Bagg finishing fourth individually. Claire Hornibrook finished 12th.
