RSHS Sports Roundup for August 22-27

The Reeds Spring High School softball team is off to a 4-1 start this season. Last week, the Lady Wolves defeated Nixa 5-3 in extra innings, and also beat Hollister and Ava. The team’s lone loss came at Republic, 12-0.

The varsity football team traveled to Cassville last Friday and fell to the Wildcats 27-6. Quarterback Austin Staugaard scored the only touchdown on a one-yard run. Colter Whitten led the team with 72 rushing yards on 12 carries.  

The Lady Wolves tennis team defeated Bolivar 6-3 on August 22. In singles matches, Lauren Hustead, Makenna Curtis, Taylor Bullis, Hanna Redmon, and Tyan Burnett won. The double team of Redmon and Burnett also won.

Willow Springs defeated the Lady Wolves on August 24, 8-1. Hanna Redmon was the lone winner. In the Forsyth Tournament on August 27, Willow Springs again defeated Reeds Spring, 5-0. The Lady Wolves also fell to Clever 5-2 and Forsyth 4-3. Kennzie Cockrell, Bullis, Redmon, and Burnett all won matches, as well as the doubles team of Redmon and Burnett.
