The Creating Original Music Project (COMP) at the University of Missouri's School of Music has recognized three students at Reeds Spring Elementary School.
Fourth-grader Kaydn Bilberry earned second place in the junior division for writing and performing the song, "Run Lanie Run." Third-grader Jenna Yaw earned third place for writing and performing the song, "I'm Lost." Fourth-grader Rayleigh Bevelot received honorable mention for writing and performing the song, "Don't Worry."
Bilberry will receive $300 and Yaw $200. In addition, Reeds Spring Elementary School will receive $1,250. The students are also invited to attend the COMP Festival on April 16 at the University of Missouri. Bilberry and Yaw's compositions will be performed during the recital segment.
