Wolves inducted seven new members into the Sports Hall of Fame on February 13

Seven individuals were inducted into the Reeds Spring High School Sports Hall of Fame on February 13. Ceremonies took place between the Jr. Varsity and Varsity Boys Basketball contests against Forsyth at the High School Gymnasium. Inductees for 2015 included Coach Dale Gilchrist who served as Head Baseball and Head Girls Basketball Coach at Reeds Spring during a 28 year career from 1982 through 2010. Gilchrist was joined by six other athletes whom he coached including 1995 graduate David Byrne, 1997 graduate Mandy Dial, 2000 graduates Joy Dorr and Becky Eye, 2004 graduate Jessica Selby and 2006 graduate Angela Selby. Byrne was a standout in Football and Baseball for the Wolves from 1991-95 while Dial, Dorr and Eye were instrumental in leading the Girls Basketball teams to successful seasons from 1996-2000. Jessica and Angela Selby were standout athletes in Track who established school records during their High School careers. Jessica Selby was also a member of the 2000-01 Girls Basketball squad which compiled a record of 26-4 and reached the State Class 3 Quarterfinals while her sister, Angela, was a record setting member of the Lady Wolves Softball team which compiled an overall record of 19-8 in 2005 and set the stage for future success in the sport. This was the nineteenth group of inductees into the Sports Hall of Fame which was started in 1997.
