The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame plans to induct Reeds Spring alum Denny Routh into the Elite 11 on Tuesday, October 20. The Elite 11 honors former high school, college, and professional football players who made positive contributions to the sport.
Routh is a 1990 graduate of Reeds Spring High School. He earned Class 3 All-State as a linebacker and was selected All-Conference as a linebacker, running back, and punter. He played college football at Pittsburg State, winning a national title in 1991.
“It’s humbling to receive an award like this,” Routh said. “I was just playing football.”
Routh currently lives in Nixa and works in the tile and stone industry. He frequently returns to the area to spend time at Table Rock Lake.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Reeds Spring. I don’t think there was a better place to grow up,” Routh said.
